Ein Aktivist von Alarmephone Sahara berichtet aus dem Niger, gemeinsam auf dem Podium mit zwei Aktivist*innen von Afrique-Europe-Interact. Gemeinsam sprechen sie darüber, wie sich Migration und Mobilität in der Sahel-Sahara-Region entwickeln, welche politischen Einflüsse dahinterstecken und wie ihre Arbeit vor Ort aussieht.

Gemeinsam diskutieren wir: wie – oft gewaltvolle – Migrationsbekämpfung den aktuellen politischen Diskurs dominiert, wie lokale und europäische Politik zusammenhängen und welche Alternativen zu dieser Grenzpolitik denkbar sind – um Menschenrechte in Flucht- und Mobilitätsbewegungen nicht nur einzufordern, sondern zu ermöglichen!

An activist from Alarmephone Sahara – a volunteer-run network – reports from Niger, joined on the panel by two activists from Afrique-Europe-Interact. Together they’ll discuss how migration and mobility are evolving in the Sahel-Sahara-region, what political forces are driving it, and what their work on the ground for people on the move and refugees looks like.

Together we will discuss: how migration is fought – often violently, how Thuringian/ local politics and european politics justify their border pollitics – and what alternatives to this border policy could look like – so that human rights are not just a reminder, but made a reality!
